About Kristen Payne

Kristen Payne lives in Golden, Colorado, USA with her son, Harrison, and their sweet pup. She was asked to serve on the Board for the The Centre of Love Foundation after traveling to Kenya for the 2025 TCOLF Friends & Family Service Trip hosted by the three co-founders of the Centre, having been invited by her dear friend of over 20 years, Patrice Henning. Kristen’s lifelong passion for equity and social justice, and her commitment to serve underrepresented populations aligns with the mission of TCOLF. After a career in sports medicine working with world class and collegiate athletes, Kristen pivoted and went back to school. In 2019 she earned a Master of Arts in Social Justice and Ethics at the Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado. She currently works for a nonprofit organization in the US, The Center for Employment Opportunities, that works with formerly incarcerated individuals in finding employment and helping them re-enter society through social support and connections. Kristen also comes to TCOLF with board experience, having served on two Colorado-based nonprofit board of directors. Lasallian in spirit, Kristen is deeply touched by the Lasallian mantra to touch hearts, teach minds and transform lives. She is committed to helping the mission of The Centre of Love in bringing educational opportunities and providing essential services while seeing the humanity in each individual served in KIbera and beyond.
